Volleyball Recap: Desert Edge Scorpions vs. Verrado Vipers
After flying high against North Canyon last Tuesday, Desert Edge came back down to earth. The Scorpions lost 3-0 to the Verrado Vipers on Tuesday. The Scorpions have struggled against the Vipers recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
Desert Edge took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-6, 25-15, 25-21.
Verrado's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Elleana Bejarano led the charge by getting 31 digs and two assists. Those 31 digs gave Bejarano a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Baylee Wakeham, who had 37 assists and nine digs.
