Basketball Recap: Oak Grove Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

Oak Grove entered their tilt with Ann Sobrato on Wednesday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They snuck past the Ann Sobrato Bulldogs with a 57-53 victory. The Eagles have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Bulldogs, too.

Oak Grove was led to victory by Cole Takeda and Elijah Hightower. Takeda went 6 of 9 from beyond the arc on his way to 19 points, while Hightower almost dropped a triple-double on ten points, ten boards, and nine assists. With that strong performance, Takeda is now averaging an impressive 15.7 points per game. Another player making a difference was Derek Trac, who posted ten points.

Oak Grove's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-9. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.7 points per game. As for Ann Sobrato, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 12 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season.

Oak Grove will head out to square off against Evergreen Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Evergreen Valley will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Oak Grove surely won't give up without a fight. As for Ann Sobrato, they will welcome Mt. Pleasant at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Ann Sobrato is facing Mt. Pleasant at the right time seeing as Mt. Pleasant is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
