Baseball Recap: Martin Luther Takes a Loss

Martin Luther's last matchup with Lake Country Lutheran could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's matchup on Saturday. The Spartans lost 10-3 to the Lightning. The defeat continues a trend for the Spartans in their meetings with the Lightning: they've now lost six in a row.

Martin Luther saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jady Colome, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI. Tino Pozos was another, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.

Martin Luther's loss dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Lake Country Lutheran, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.

Coincidentally, Martin Luther and Lake Country Lutheran will both be playing Milwaukee Lutheran the next time they take the field. The Spartans will head out to face the Red Knights at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the Lightning will play them later in the day, at 4:30 p.m.
