Softball Recap: South View Finds Playoff Glory Versus Hoggard

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but South View had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Hoggard Vikings by a score of 4-0. Winning may never get old, but the Tigers sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

The result came thanks to JORDYNN PARNELL's shutout, as she gave up just a hit and racked up 14 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 14 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, South View saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was KAYLIE COOK, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

South View pushed their record up to 18-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Hoggard, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-10.

Looking ahead, South View will face off against D.H. Conley on Friday. The Vikings' pitching crew has only allowed 2.3 runs per game this season, so the Tigers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. Hoggard does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
