Soccer Game Preview: Jefferson vs. Hononegah

Jefferson is 0-8 against Hononegah since May of 2017 but things could change on Thursday. Jefferson will host Hononegah at 4:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Jefferson has three straight victories, Hononegah has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the pitch.

Jefferson's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over Stillman Valley.

Sydney Stovall was the driving force of Jefferson's attack as she scored both of Jefferson's goals, bringing her season total up to eight goals.

Meanwhile, Hononegah fell victim to Central and their airtight defense on Saturday. They fell just short of the Rockets by a score of 1-0. That's two games in a row now that Hononegah have lost by just one goal.

Hononegah's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Jefferson, their victory bumped their record up to 3-0.

Jefferson might still be hurting after the 9-2 loss they got from Hononegah when the teams last played back in April of 2024. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Jefferson was down 4-1.
