Softball Game Preview: La Sierra Academy Knights vs. California School for the Deaf-Riverside Cubs

For the second straight game, La Sierra Academy will face off against California School for the Deaf-Riverside. The Knights are headed away from home for the first time to square off against the Cubs at 3:00 p.m. on Monday.

La Sierra Academy is leaving town to face California School for the Deaf-Riverside after disappointing their home crowd in their season opener. The Knights lost 25-8 to the Cubs on Thursday. The Knights have struggled against the Cubs recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost meeting.

For California School for the Deaf-Riverside's part, Brittany Rivera was a standout: she got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run, three stolen bases, and four runs. The dominant performance also gave Rivera a new career-high in RBI (four). Another player making a difference was Jazzel Diaz-Sandoval, who scored four runs and stole five bases while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances.

California School for the Deaf-Riverside always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .795. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
