Softball Game Preview: Tavares Bulldogs vs. Mount Dora Christian Academy Bulldogs

Tavares is 2-8 against Mount Dora Christian Academy since February of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. We've got a battle between Bulldogs coming up.

Tavares is headed into Thursday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Tuesday. They lost 12-2 to Eustis.

Meanwhile, Mount Dora Christian Academy had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Seminoles by a score of 7-4.

Katie Bayly made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. Bayly was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Lily Bryant was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. Raelyn Richardson was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

Mount Dora Christian Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .407. They are 10-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Mount Dora Christian Academy pushed their record up to 12-4 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Tavares, their loss dropped their record down to 6-5.
