Recap: NSU University Sharks vs. Chaminade-Madonna Lions
Even though the Chaminade-Madonna Lions scored an imposing 72 points on Tuesday, the NSU University Sharks still came out on top. NSU University enjoyed a cozy 88-72 win over Chaminade-Madonna. Given NSU University's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 102nd, while Chaminade-Madonna is ranked 332nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
NSU University was led to victory by Anthony Ferrer and Dwight Gaines. Ferrer scored 22 points, while Gaines scored 33 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Gaines has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Julian Granville, who scored 11 points.
NSU University's win bumped their record up to 15-5. As for Chaminade-Madonna, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-13.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. NSU University will challenge North Broward Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. North Broward Prep has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 309 points over their last five contests. As for Chaminade-Madonna, they will head out on the road to challenge Divine Savior Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday.
