Soccer Game Preview: May River vs. Hilton Head Island

May River hasn't had much luck against Hilton Head Island recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The May River Sharks will welcome the Hilton Head Island Seahawks at 7:00 p.m. May River has given up an average of 2.8 goals per game this season, so hopefully the team got some defensive drills in this week.

May River is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to ten goals on Friday, they were much more limited against Bishop England on Tuesday. They came up short against the Battling Bishops, falling 5-1.

Meanwhile, Hilton Head Island's game on Tuesday was all tied up 1-1 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They skirted past Bluffton 2-1. The victory continues a trend for the Seahawks in their matchups with the Bobcats: they've now won three in a row.

Stephanie Garza and Aliana Richard scored both of Hilton Head Island's goals, bringing their combined season tally to eight goals.

Hilton Head Island's win bumped their record up to 6-4. As for May River, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.
