Baseball Recap: Dewey Triumphs

Dewey got themselves on the board against Beggs on Thursday, but Beggs never followed suit. They came out on top against the Golden Demons by a score of 5-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bulldoggers.

Lathe Griggs tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 13 over 6.1 innings pitched. Those 13 strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Parker Garrison, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Jay Murguia, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Dewey's victory bumped their record up to 27-7. As for Beggs, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 18-12.

Beggs didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 5-0 win against Hugo on the 1st. Hopefully Dewey paid attention to the Golden Demons' game: the next time they hit the field , they'll take on the Golden Demons at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
