Baseball Recap: Morehead Comes Up Short

Morehead was the 11-1 winner over Walkertown when they last played one another back in March of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Morehead Panthers took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Walkertown Wolfpack on Tuesday. The Panthers just can't catch a break and have now endured four defeats in a row.

Morehead saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zachary Grogan, who went 1-for-2 with one triple. That triple marked the first that Grogan hit this season.

Morehead's record now sits at 2-5. As for Walkertown, they pushed their record up to 9-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Morehead Panthers face off against Rockingham County Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Rockingham County will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Morehead surely won't give up without a fight. As for Walkertown, they will host Morehead at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
