Softball Recap: Southern Aroostook Warriors vs. Central Aroostook Panthers

Southern Aroostook gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged the Central Aroostook Panthers out 13-12. That's more bragging rights for Southern Aroostook, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Brooke Shields made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 14 batters over 5.2 innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits (and only one walk). Shields was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with a triple, two RBI, and a run.

In other batting news, Southern Aroostook let Madison Shields and Cami Shields loose on the outfield. Shields went 3-for-3 with a home run, four RBI, and two runs, while Shields went 3-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and a triple.
