Basketball Game Preview: BASIS - Prescott Coyote vs. Trinity Christian Warriors

BASIS - Prescott hasn't had much luck against Trinity Christian recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The BASIS - Prescott Coyote will head out to square off against the Trinity Christian Warriors at 7:00 p.m.

BASIS - Prescott is headed into Tuesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their sixth straight game on Thursday. They came up short against BASIS - Mesa, falling 59-36.

Despite the defeat, BASIS - Prescott had strong showings from Abner Chang, who went 5 of 7 en route to 14 points, and Raj Tung, who went 5 for 8 on his way to 12 points and three steals. Tung is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jordan Puster, who posted two points and 11 rebounds.

Even though they lost, BASIS - Prescott was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Trinity Christian waltzed into their contest on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They beat the Coyotes by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 56-15. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 53rd, while the Coyotes are ranked 295th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Trinity Christian pushed their record up to 11-2 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.0 points per game. As for BASIS - Prescott, their loss dropped their record down to 1-9.

BASIS - Prescott took a serious blow against Trinity Christian in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, falling 61-22. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point BASIS - Prescott was down 42-9.
