Recap: The First Academy Royals vs. Lake Mary Rams
Even though the Lake Mary Rams scored an imposing 59 points on Tuesday, The First Academy Royals still came out on top. The First Academy walked away with a 69-59 victory over Lake Mary. That's another feather in the cap for The First Academy, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead The First Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Julian Anderson, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 14 rebounds. Those 14 rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Lorenzo De jesus, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds.
The First Academy is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 5-4 record this season. As for Lake Mary, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-5.
The First Academy will be home for the holidays to greet Tampa Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Tampa Catholic has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 522 points over their last seven matches. Lake Mary will take on South Sumter in a holiday battle at 5:00 p.m. on Friday at. South Sumter presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Lake Mary in Florida (South Sumter is ranked 96th, while Lake Mary is ranked 229th).
