Recap: Eustace Bulldogs vs. Rice Bulldogs
The Eustace Bulldogs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their eighth straight loss. They were beaten by Rice 59-24. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Eustace in their matchups with Rice: they've now lost seven in a row.
It was another big night for Saniya Burks, who scored 32 points along with nine rebounds and seven steals for Rice. That makes it 14 consecutive games in which Burks has scored at least 25% of Rice's points. Aaliyah Nezar was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with nine steals and six rebounds.
Eustace has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost nine of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-12 record this season. As for Rice, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 10-4.
Eustace will head out on the road to face off against Malakoff at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Malakoff's favor as the team sits on five straight wins at home while Eustace has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road. Rice will take on Palmer at 12:15 p.m. on Friday. Palmer will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 1178th, while Rice is ranked 217th).
