Soccer Recap: Clinton Comes Up Short

Clinton entered their match against Southwestern Randolph on Wednesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Dark Horses came up short against the Cougars, falling 5-1. Having soared to a lofty four goals in the game before, Clinton couldn't push the score so high this time.

Their goal came courtesy of Chris Zelaya, who's now up to six this season.

Clinton's loss dropped their record down to 10-2. As for Southwestern Randolph, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 12-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Clinton will take on South Lenoir at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. This will be Clinton's first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Southwestern Randolph, they will square off against Eastern Randolph at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Eastern Randolph will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more goals each matchup than the last.
