Softball Recap: Addison Trail Comes Up Short

Addison Trail extended their losing streak to four on Tuesday, dropping them down to 1-9. They lost 8-1 to the Downers Grove South Mustangs. The Blazers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mustangs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2025.

As for Downers Grove South, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-4. Eight seems to be a good number for them as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

For Downers Grove South's part, Morgan Hahn looked comfortable as she struck out seven batters over 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts Hahn has posted since back in May of 2025.

On the hitting side, Downers Grove South got a massive performance out of Paige Rook, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Jacklyn Meyers was another key player, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Addison Trail has already played their next matchup, a 12-2 defeat against Willowbrook on the 15th. As for Downers Grove South, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 12-1 win against Leyden on the 15th.
