New London has gone 9-1 against Norwich Free Academy recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. The New London Whalers will square off against the Norwich Free Academy Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. New London knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 12 contests -- so hopefully Norwich Free Academy likes a good challenge.

New London is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Connecticut's top teams: St. Bernard, who was ranked first at the time (New London was ranked fifth). New London took down St. Bernard 69-55 on Tuesday.

New London's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Dashaun Phillips, who went 8 for 17 on his way to 21 points in addition to seven assists and six boards, and Jaxyn Beaudet, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds. Beaudet also posted five blocks, which is notable because New London is undefeated when he posts at least five blocks, but 1-3 otherwise. Cayden Simonds Gaskin was another key player, putting up nine points.

Meanwhile, Norwich Free Academy was just a bucket shy of victory on Tuesday and fell 50-49 to Fitch. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

New London's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-3. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 23.6 points. As for Norwich Free Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 4-8.

Everything came up roses for New London against Norwich Free Academy in their previous meeting back in January, as the team secured a 74-45 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for New London since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
