Baseball Recap: Arlington Find Success

Arlington hadn't done well against Monroe recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Eagles skirted past the Bearcats 8-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Eagles have posted against the Bearcats since March 16, 2019.

Dylan Durfee and Easton Aalbu did most of the damage at the plate: Durfee went 3-for-4 with two runs and one RBI, while Aalbu went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double. Durfee has become a key player for Arlington: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 2-8 otherwise. Daniel Delcoure was another key player, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

The victory made it two in a row for Arlington and bumps their season record up to 5-9. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 8 runs in those games. As for Monroe, they moved to 9-5 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Arlington will square off against Mountlake Terrace at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Monroe, they will take on Everett at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
