The Bradshaw Christian Pride will challenge the River City Raiders at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Bradshaw Christian is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.4 runs per game this season.
River City will be up against a hot Bradshaw Christian team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. The Pride never let Liberty Ranch get on the board and left with an 8-0 victory on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Pride, who have now won 15 games by six runs or more so far this season.
Chase Tidwell looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Jake Johnson and Landon Carter did most of the damage at the plate: Johnson went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple, while Carter went 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. That's the most runs Johnson has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Evan Fujii-Sisler, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles, one stolen base, and one run.
Bradshaw Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Liberty Ranch only managed three hits.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but River City ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out Pioneer 4-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Raiders have posted since February 24th.
River City saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zach Scorza, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI and one double. Hayden Onatanian was another, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one double and one RBI.
Bradshaw Christian's victory was their 24th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 19-2. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for River City, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 16-9 record this season.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Bradshaw Christian has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like River City struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Bradshaw Christian came out on top in a nail-biter against River City when the teams last played back in March of 2024, sneaking past 1-0. Do the Pride have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Raiders turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
