Basketball Recap: Mountain View's Win on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Four + How To Watch

Mountain View extended their winning streak to four on Wednesday, bumping them up to 4-2. They came out on top against the Flowing Wells Caballeros by a score of 54-45. The Mountain Lions have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Caballeros, too.

Mountain View's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Rocky Flores, who shot 46% from the field to rack up 13 points. Daniel Anumba was another key player, dropping a double-double with 11 points and ten boards.

Mountain View was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in November of 2024.

As for Flowing Wells, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season. The matchup marked their lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Flowing Wells' loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Isaias Encinas, who posted 13 points and six steals. Encinas has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jose Cureses, who went 8-for-14 on his way to 17 points.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mountain View will host Marana at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Flowing Wells, they will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on Canyon del Oro at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Caballeros' defense better be ready for this one: the Dorados have averaged an impressive 60.5 points per game this season.
