Football Recap: Port Allen Takes a Loss

Thursday just wasn't the day for Port Allen's offense. They were outmatched by Madison Prep Academy and fell 69-0. While losing is never fun, the Pelicans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana football rankings (they are ranked 215th, while Madison Prep Academy are ranked 34th).

Madison Prep Academy's win on Thursday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from J'On Profit, who rushed for 101 yards and one touchdown. Profit showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 50 yards. Another rusher making a difference was Harlem Turner, who rushed for 69 yards and one TD.

Port Allen's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Madison Prep Academy, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-1.

Looking ahead, Port Allen is taking a road trip to challenge St. Michael at 7:00 p.m. on the 24th. As for Madison Prep Academy, they will look to defend their home field on the 24th against Collegiate at 7:00 p.m. Madison Prep Academy will be up against Collegiate's rather soft defense (which has allowed 51.67 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
