Basketball Game Preview: Sargent Farmers vs. Monte Vista Pirates

Sargent is 0-5 against Monte Vista since March of 2021 but things could change on Tuesday. The Sargent Farmers will be playing at home against the Monte Vista Pirates at 6:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Last Thursday, Sargent was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 46-42 to Center.

Despite their defeat, Sargent saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Lucas Garcia, who posted ten points and eight boards, was perhaps the best of all. Garcia is also crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Fernando Venzor was another key player, putting up nine points and three steals.

Monte Vista has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They received a blow on Saturday as they fell 58-41 to Centauri. The contest marked the Pirates' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Sargent's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Monte Vista, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-4.
