Basketball Recap: Matthew Lorje's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Tennyson over San Lorenzo

Tennyson played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against the San Lorenzo Grizzlies, falling 70-45. The Lancers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-15.

Tennyson lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Matthew Lorje, who went 6 for 9 on his way to 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of James Walker, who posted five points and 13 rebounds.

Tennyson has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season. As for San Lorenzo, they pushed their record up to 8-4 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tennyson will venture away from home to challenge Mt. Eden at 7:00 p.m. on January 17th. As for San Lorenzo, they will head out to face off against El Cerrito at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
