Basketball Recap: Cordova Takes a Loss

Cordova came up into this matchup off a tough 44-point defeat last Tuesday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Southwind Jaguars by a score of 53-50 on Friday. The Wolves' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it six in a row.

Southwind's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ronald Towns, who went 7 of 11 to rack up 18 points. The dominant performance also gave Towns a new career-high in three-point shooting accuracy (80%). Kristopher Carrol was another key player, putting up ten points along with five assists and five rebounds.

Cordova's record now sits at 8-14. As for Southwind, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Houston the next time they take the court. Cordova will head out to face Houston at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Southwind will host them at 7:30 p.m. on February 14th.
