Basketball Recap: Benedictine Comes Up Short

Benedictine was the 66-48 winner over Saint John Paul the Great Catholic when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Benedictine Cadets took a 67-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Saint John Paul the Great Catholic Wolves on Tuesday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game back in December of 2024 (55), the Cadets still had to take the loss.

This is the second loss in a row for Benedictine and nudges their season record down to 6-9. As for Saint John Paul the Great Catholic, with the win, they broke their 11-game losing streak and moved their record to 1-8.

Benedictine will take on New Town in a tournament on Friday. One thing working in New Town's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four games. As for Saint John Paul the Great Catholic, they will take on Chapelgate Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Chapelgate Christian Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61.2 points per game this season.
