Aquinas faced Columbus in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Blugolds blew past the Cardinals 34-13. With the Blugolds ahead 28-7 at the half, the match was all but over already.

Aquinas has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 13 points this season. As for Columbus, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Aquinas will host Arcadia at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Columbus, they will challenge Lodi at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The contest will give the Cardinals their first taste of in-conference action this season.
