Baseball Recap: Syracuse Comes Up Short

Syracuse was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 9-2 to the Jordan Beetdiggers. On the bright side, the two- run effort marked the Titans' highest-scoring matchup to date.

Syracuse saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Riley Carver, who went 1-for-2 with one run. That hit marked the first that Carver has got this season.

Syracuse's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Jordan, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Coming up, Syracuse will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Bear River at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Titans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bears have averaged an impressive 8.5 runs per game this season. As for Jordan, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 12-2 victory against Canyon View on the 7th.
