Basketball Recap: American Heritage Falls Short of Somerset Academy - Canyons in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact American Heritage can now relate to. They were beaten by the Somerset Academy - Canyons Cougars 74-37 on Tuesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Stallions in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now lost six in a row.

Several Stallions players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Briyanna Doden, who posted 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Presser, who scored nine points.

Somerset Academy - Canyons' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Delanie Doty led the charge by as she made all 7 shots she took racking up 19 points and five boards. That's the most points Doty has posted since back in December of 2023. Alana Pinnock was another key player, putting up nine points along with eight assists and five rebounds.

American Heritage's loss dropped their record down to 7-14. As for Somerset Academy - Canyons, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season.

American Heritage does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Somerset Academy - Canyons has also already played their next game, a 55-53 win against King's Academy on the 6th.
