Softball Recap: Bangor Now 7-1 over Last Eight Games

Bangor lost to Michigan Lutheran on Tuesday, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Vikings were the clear victors by a 13-6 margin over the Titans. The result was nothing new for the Vikings, who have now won eight matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Carley McCoy made a splash no matter where she played. She tossed seven innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off five hits. McCoy was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Alexis Wisniewski, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted over her last 11 games. Another player making a difference was Emily Wisniewski, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Bangor is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.1 runs over those games. As for Michigan Lutheran, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bangor will face off against White Pigeon at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Michigan Lutheran, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Bridgman at 4:15 p.m. on Monday.
