Volleyball Recap: Weld Central Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Tegan Huwa and Natalie Prince + How To Watch

After flying high against Frontier Academy on Tuesday, Weld Central came back down to earth. The Rebels fell just short of the Valley Vikings by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The Rebels haven't had much luck with the Vikings recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Weld Central started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 25-27, 18-25, 25-19, 25-22, 16-14.

Weld Central's loss came despite strong showings from Natalie Prince and Tegan Huwa. Prince had 15 digs, while Huwa had eight kills and six digs. Huwa has been hot recently, having posted five or more kills the last three times she's played.

Valley was led to victory by Khloe Barron and Jade Nevarez. Barron had 13 digs and one assist, while Nevarez had 42 assists and 13 digs. Those 13 digs gave Barron a new career-high.

Weld Central's loss dropped their record down to 6-13. As for Valley, with the victory, they broke their three-match losing streak and moved their record to 6-10.

Weld Central wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Fort Morgan on the 20th. As for Valley, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-1 defeat against Brush on the 21st.
