Baseball Recap: North Jackson Comes Up Short

North Jackson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 7-4 to the Scottsboro Wildcats. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-4 back in March.

Brayden Wilson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned (and four unearned) runs on ten hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Conner Reed was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.

North Jackson's defeat dropped their record down to 3-18. As for Scottsboro, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 8-13 record.

Looking ahead, North Jackson will challenge Varsity Opponent at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Scottsboro, they are taking a road trip to square off against Albertville at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
