Basketball Game Preview: Agua Fria Owls vs. Glendale Cardinals

The Agua Fria Owls will challenge the Glendale Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Agua Fria will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

Last Friday, Agua Fria didn't have too much trouble with Westview as they won 42-25.

Agua Fria's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jersey Mitchell, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds. Mitchell is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down nine or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Saleen Rios, who posted 15 points.

Agua Fria smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in three consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Glendale didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Sierra Linda on Friday, but they still walked away with a 34-28 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cardinals.

Agua Fria has also been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-10 record this season. As for Glendale, their victory bumped their record up to 9-5.

Everything came up roses for Agua Fria against Glendale in their previous matchup back in February of 2016, as the team secured a 61-34 win. Does Agua Fria have another victory up their sleeve, or will Glendale turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
