Soccer Game Preview: Ferris vs. Alvarado

Ferris is 0-7-1 against Alvarado since February of 2019 but things could change on Friday. The Ferris Yellowjackets will square off against the Alvarado Indians at 5:00 p.m. Ferris' last four contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

While the 0-0 score might suggest a draw, it was Godley who was credited with the victory on Tuesday. Godley got it done in the shootout by posting four goals to Ferris' three. While losing is never fun, the Yellowjackets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 501st, while the Wildcats are ranked 153rd).

Alvarado is headed into Friday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their seventh straight game on Tuesday. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of Venus.

Alvarado's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Ferris, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6-3.

Ferris came up short against Alvarado when the teams last played back in March of 2024, falling 3-1. Can Ferris avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
