Baseball Recap: Regents Lions vs. Roanoke Valley Christian EAGLES
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Charlottesville, Regents was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Roanoke Valley Christian EAGLES by a score of 8-3.
Sam Johnson and Paul Duval made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound, Johnson tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Duval didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over four innings pitched. Johnson has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. At bat, Johnson went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI, while Duval went 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI. Those two doubles gave Duval a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Tucker Jamison, who scored four runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-4. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Peter Mierzejewski was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4.
Regents kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Roanoke Valley Christian only managed four hits.
Regents now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Roanoke Valley Christian, they dropped their record down to 2-4 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.
