Volleyball Recap: Valley Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Florin, Valley was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Foothill Mustangs. This was a revenge game for the Vikings: when they faced off against the Mustangs back in March, they had to take a 3-0 defeat.

Valley wouldn't go down easily and took Foothill into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. The final score came out to 25-15, 13-25, 22-25, 25-22, 15-13.

Ricky Lor paced Valley's offense, picking up ten kills. Lor got some help from Ethan Vang and his ten assists. Finally, Lor was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high 12 blocks.

The victory snapped Valley's losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 3-9 record. As for Foothill, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-7.

After both having extra time off, Valley and Fairfield will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:30 p.m. on the 21st. The Vikings are facing the Falcons at the right time seeing as the Falcons are stuck on a 12-game losing streak. As for Foothill, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-2 win against Leroy Greene Academy on the 7th.
