Basketball Recap: Downtown Magnets Beats Animo Robinson for Their Fourth Straight Win

Downtown Magnets had won three straight games and Justin Huang did his part to make it four on Friday. The Downtown Magnets Suns skirted past the Animo Robinson Monarchs 42-40 thanks in part to Huang, who went 10 of 23 on his way to 23 points and six steals. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 15.5 points per game.

The team also got some help courtesy of Patrick Lei, who posted seven points and nine rebounds. He is also on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in the last six games he's played.

When it comes to explaining why Animo Robinson lost, don't look at Deandre Kirkpatrick. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 boards. That was a full 42.5% of Animo Robinson's points, marking the third time in a row he's put up more than a third of the team's points. Roger Shackelford was another key player, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 12 boards.

Downtown Magnets is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.3 points per game.
