Basketball Recap: Trinity Christian Academy Piles Up the Points Against Faith Lutheran

You're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for Trinity Christian Academy on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that they blew the Faith Lutheran Lions out of the water with a 46-16 final score. The Warriors pushed the score to 35-8 by the end of the third, a deficit the Lions had little chance of recovering from.

Cenzie Pyeatt had a dynamite game for Trinity Christian Academy, putting up 17 points along with six rebounds and five steals. Pyeatt has become a key player for Trinity Christian Academy: the team is 2-1 when she posts at least five steals, but 3-8 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Hanna Stephens, who posted 12 points.

Trinity Christian Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in November of 2023.

Tara Leicht and Evangeline Hoff certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Leicht earned eight points, while Hoff scored five points. That was a full 50% of Faith Lutheran's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's put up more than a third of the team's points.

Trinity Christian Academy has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 5-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.3 points per game. As for Faith Lutheran, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.
