The Pahrump Valley Trojans will face off against the Virgin Valley Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Pahrump Valley will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last.
Pahrump Valley is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Canyon Springs as they made off with a 17-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Trojans, who have now won 14 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Tony Whitney and Aidyn Cratty did most of the damage at the plate: Whitney went a perfect 4-for-4 with four stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI, while Cratty got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those four hits gave Whitney a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Benny Cimperman, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two doubles, one stolen base, and one run.
Pahrump Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. They are a perfect 12-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Virgin Valley unfortunately witnessed the end of their nine-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell 10-7 to The Meadows School. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Bulldogs, who until this contest were averaging 3.71 runs allowed.
Virgin Valley saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mason Montoya, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Another was Malachi Jordan, who earned two runs and two stolen bases.
With the victory, Pahrump Valley broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 21-10-1. As for Virgin Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 21-9-1.
Thursday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Pahrump Valley hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .325. However, it's not like Virgin Valley struggles in that department as they've averaged .335. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Pahrump Valley beat Virgin Valley 6-3 when the teams last played back in March. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Trojans since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
