Volleyball Recap: First Academy Comes Up Short

First Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Leesburg Yellow Jackets. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Yellow Jackets apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

The final score came out to 25-21, 25-11, 19-25, 25-17.

Chloe Watson paced First Academy's offense, picking up seven kills. Watson got some help from Reese Steinmetz and her 12 assists. Ella Drew Stinson controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Sophia Ross was the offensive standout of the match as she had six digs and three aces. That's the most aces she has posted since back in August.

First Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Leesburg, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

First Academy has already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Real Life Christian Academy on the 25th. As for Leesburg, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-1 defeat against Umatilla on the 25th.
