Basketball Game Preview: Coon Rapids Cardinals vs. Tartan Titans

The Coon Rapids Cardinals will wrap up 2024 with a road trip to face off against the Tartan Titans at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Coon Rapids will head into Thursday's game out to bounce back: they won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Thursday. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Anoka an easy 79-54 victory. While losing is never fun, the Cardinals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 248th, while the Tornadoes are ranked 41st).

Meanwhile, Tartan put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against St. Thomas Academy by a score of 74-65.

Tartan's win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Coon Rapids, they dropped their record down to 2-3 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.
