Softball Recap: West Fork Comes Up Short

After soaring to 16 runs the game before, West Fork was a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Shepherd Pirates. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Gators of the 15-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2024.

Elysia Gonzalez made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that she hit this season.

West Fork's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Shepherd, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-2.

Looking ahead, West Fork will venture away from home to face off against Porter at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Shepherd, they will welcome Orangefield at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
