Softball Game Preview: Riverside Generals vs. Englewood Rams

The Riverside Generals will square off against the Englewood Rams at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses apiece.

Riverside lost 21-5 to Raines on Tuesday.

A Miller made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that she hit this season. C Emanuel was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

Meanwhile, Englewood came up short against Raines on Monday, falling 23-10. Even if the Rams couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

Skyly Hyers was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Trinity Mills, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.

Englewood's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Riverside, their loss dropped their record down to 2-7.

Wednesday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Riverside has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .642. However, it's not like Englewood struggles in that department as they've averaged .459. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.

Riverside suffered a grim 20-5 defeat to Englewood in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Can the Generals avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
