Soccer Recap: Pilgrim Falls Short Against Ranked Scituate

Pilgrim faced Scituate in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Patriots lost 6-2 to the Spartans. The matchup was a close 1-0 at the break, but unfortunately for Pilgrim it sure didn't stay that way.

Hammam Alkhatabeh and Gabe Holland scored both of Pilgrim's goals, bringing their combined season tally to three goals.

Pilgrim's loss dropped their record down to 8-4-1. As for Scituate, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-1-2.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Pilgrim will challenge rival North Providence at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Scituate is set to face off against their familiar foe Smithfield at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
