Recap: Meeker Cowboys vs. Cedaredge Bruins
The Meeker Cowboys lost against the Cedaredge Bruins back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Meeker fell to Cedaredge 49-45.
When it comes to explaining why Meeker lost, one person who can't be blamed is Ainsley Selle. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 13 points and 14 rebounds. Selle is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for five games straight. Another player making a difference was Ellie Hossack, who scored 11 points along with four steals.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cedaredge to victory, but perhaps none more so than Libby Brooks, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Addie Hanson was another key contributor, scoring five points along with nine rebounds and five steals.
Meeker has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-9 record this season. As for Cedaredge, their victory bumped their record up to 10-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Meeker will square off against Aspen at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Cedaredge, they will head out on the road to square off against North Fork at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Cedaredge is facing North Fork at the right time seeing as North Fork is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
