Baseball Game Preview: Lone Star Rangers vs. Newman Smith Trojans

The Lone Star Rangers will face off against the Newman Smith Trojans at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Lone Star barely beat Arlington the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Rangers were the clear victors by an 8-2 margin over the Colts on Saturday. The Rangers haven't had any issues with the Colts recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

The team relied heavily on Brayden Harlan, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, one double, and one RBI. Those two hits gave him a new career-high.

Meanwhile, Newman Smith can bid farewell to their 13-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They skirted past Creekview 3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Trojans have posted since March 1st.

Lone Star's victory bumped their record up to 9-18. As for Newman Smith, their win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-8 and their overall record up to 8-16-2.
