Basketball Recap: Centerville Comes Up Short

Centerville has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were beaten by the Christ School Greenies 78-48 on Sunday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Elks have suffered since December 16, 2025.

Christ School had a senior duo take command as TYLER JONES shot 73% from the field en route to 28 points and KINGSTON WHITTY went 9-for-10 to rack up 21 points along with eight boards and three steals. Thanks to that strong game, JONES now owns an excellent 40.7% three-point shooting accuracy. Another player making a difference was TREVOR MANHERTZ, who posted nine points in addition to six assists and six rebounds.

Centerville's loss dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Christ School, they pushed their record up to 16-4 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.

Centerville didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 50-49 win against Fairmont on the 22nd. As for Christ School, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 78-58 victory against Varsity Opponent on the 19th.
