Volleyball Recap: Windham Bombers vs. Lordstown Red Devils
Windham was the 3-0 winner over Lordstown when they last played one another back in September, but their luck changed this time around. The Bombers lost 3-0 to the Red Devils on Wednesday. The Bombers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.
Windham was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-22, 25-17.
Makenzi Blockinger paced Windham's offense, picking up seven kills. Blockinger were helped by Kierrah Sanders and Skylar Bailey, who contributed five assists each. Bailey was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.
Windham's defeat dropped their record down to 4-17. As for Lordstown, they moved to 7-15 with that victory, which also ended their five-match losing streak.
Coming up, after both having extra time off, Windham and Bloomfield will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Lordstown does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
