After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Italy, Itasca was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They blew past the Frost Polar Bears 19-11. The Wampus Cats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by six runs or more this season.
Emma Malke was incredible, firing off two home runs, eight RBI, and one stolen base while going 3-for-4. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Tatiana Charles, who scored two runs and stole four bases while going 2-for-4.
Malke wasn't the only one working in the home run department: Itasca lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Itasca's win bumped their record up to 6-10. As for Frost, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-12.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Itasca will head out to face off against Hico at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
