Baseball Game Preview: Deering Rams vs. Massabesic Mustangs

The Deering Rams will take on the Massabesic Mustangs at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. Deering hasn't scored more than a single run for four games straight, a trend the team is eager to reverse.

Deering managed to slip by Scarborough the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Rams lost 13-0 to the Red Storm on Tuesday.

Deering saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gus Groh, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base and one double. Groh has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Massabesic and Biddeford meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Tuesday. The Mustangs came up short against the Tigers, falling 8-1.

Deering's defeat dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Massabesic, their loss dropped their record down to 4-7-1.
